Yes, there may be several ways? I've been thinking about this for a while, not because I'm a criminal but just because like you I believe in privacy. One way might be to change your MAC address often and not use a static IP? Another way's more radical. Numbers of people may include some likely key words that a DPI was instructed to find, in emails that they send.
