If the Zigbee-equipped router could connect to the electricity smart meter and control an air conditioner, that could save billions of dollars in upgrading the power grid. Customers could opt to have their air conditioners switch to a low power setting at times of peak demand, in return for a discount. But LG seem to be be the only conditioner provider supporting Zigbee. ps: Zigbee got a mention on Link in 2009: http://mailman.anu.edu.au/pipermail/link/2009-November/085436.html -- Tom Worthington, PO Box 13, Belconnen ACT 2617, Australia _______________________________________________ Link mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/link
