This Thursday, 11th September EFA is running a panel session on the merits and 
risks of mandatory data retention and mass surveillance more generally.

The panel comprises:
-   ACT Labor Senator Kate Lundy - among many other things, the first
    Australian politician to have a website!
-   Dr Roger Clarke - current Chair of the Australian Privacy Foundation
    and a tireless privacy advocate for over 30 years
-   Alastair MacGibbon - Director of UC's Centre for Internet Safety,
    previously the founding Director of the Federal Police's High Tech
    Crime Unit and one of the most articulate advocates for mandatory 
    data retention
-   Bernard Keane - Political Editor for Crikey and an outspoken 
    opponent of mandatory data retention

EFA Exec Officer Jon Lawrence will moderate what should be a lively and robust 
discussion.
