Thanks, but no thanks. It's too late in the day for me to waste precious time with the opinions of (sadly) uninformed people who are some-40 years in the dark about Australian history, dismissing it as "conspiracy theory." If I am to be helpful though, a great book that substantially deals this topic, one that I've recommended on this list before, is "Rooted in secrecy: The clandestine element in Australian politics" by Joan Coxsedge. Goes in to great depth about foreign intel involvement with Australian political culture going back to before 1960s (no surprise really given CIA had done this in over 50 countries, many of them democracies), etc. Sadly, it can be hard to find these days as I think it's out of print. Anyway, the story is very pertinent and more substantiated now than ever before though however (esp pertaining to Pine Gap), and esp given Snowden, etc. And yeah, the last thing we need right now is the dismissal of this important history... We need remembering and to fight back against the spooks. Best, Jore. _______________________________________________ Link mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/link
