As are we all. Perspectives change, we've seen too much incompetence, the gloss 
is off. 
Funny, on ABC radio right now is mention that infrastructure investment has 
collapsed.

Democracy (with voting by the people) has always been messy, but it's fraying 
at the edges with the competitive nature and the extremism. That is what has 
led to the short-termism -- gotta do what you gotta do to keep the job because 
if you aren't there and in power, you're pretty much irrelevant. Tony Abbott 
guaranteed that with his 'nope nope nope' while in opposition and continuing 
into government. 

Relinquishing anything to independent bodies is not in their playbook. Not sure 
it's in the either major party's playbook.
