Yes, try turning off styles with a page from a social media website and see all the extra stuff downloaded just in case you might want to look at it (in Firefox select: View > Page Style > No Style). More worryingly this is also happening on what look more plain vanilla web pages which you might need to access for more important services (such getting an education). It would be possible to design these applications so they don't download all this extra stuff, if the customer said they did not want it, or were on a slow link, but how do you get the average service provider to provide this? Or is this something you need an add-on to your browser to provide? -- Tom Worthington FACS CP, TomW Communications Pty Ltd. t: 0419496150 The Higher Education Whisperer http://blog.highereducationwhisperer.com/ PO Box 13, Belconnen ACT 2617, Australia http://www.tomw.net.au Liability limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation Adjunct Senior Lecturer, Research School of Computer Science, Australian National University http://cs.anu.edu.au/courses/COMP7310/ _______________________________________________ Link mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/link
