Have you used Youtube lately? They implemented this bloody "autoplay" feature that automatically loads another "related" video at the end of the current one, basically making Youtube a continuos stream of non-stop videos after you hit play on one. One night I forgot a tab with youtube loaded where I was watching music videos... I woke up the next morning (10 hours later actually until I sat down on the PC) and there was Youtube playing some 1080p full concert of an artist I didn´t even knew, and using up my monthly allowance data plan for no other reason than to please the Google overlords that want to do an advert "impression" before each video.... There are ways to "fix" it based on setting a cookie, but if you per chance erase cookies the default setting of autoplay is restored. That´s the biggest threat to worldwide networks (think:clogged ISPs, worse performance) and consumers´ finances I´ve ever seen. On my FTTH plan things are not drastic (ie after the 500GB monthly quota is consumed speeds go down to 10Mbps) but if this caught someone tethering from a 4G/LTE smartphone with pay-per-megabyte data plan, things can get nasty (I heard of someone receiving a USD $1,200 bill because data after his 3GB monthly plan gets billed per megabyte...)
