I guess it depends on perspective. Conservatives characteristically have great difficulty perceiving value. Cost therefore looms large. Any cost.

I've heard it said that, for less than a dollar per week on average over its anticipated service life, we could implement fibre to every premises on the mainland, Tasmania and probably quite a few of the other islands. If we went as high as $2/premises per week, who knows what we could achieve? Might even do New Guinea and part of Indonesia. ;)

Is $1 per week costly?
