Anyone else noticing the gen nbn ads all over the place? ...

The "It's Tine for Gen NBN" ad is at: https://youtu.be/kQX47NOSsb8

The ad looks like one from the fictional "Nation Building Authority," in the ABC TV comedy Utopia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utopia_(Australian_TV_series)

Some parts, such as tele-medicine and tele-work are reasonably realistic. But I am not sure how the NBN connects to a submarine. Also students sitting in dark room staring mesmerized at a large screen is a good form of education.

The ending has kids on bikes cycling up to a chain link fence to watch a space launch. That makes no sense, as there are no plans to launch any NBN satellites from Australia. The second and last of the two US made NBN satellites were launched on European rockets from French Guiana last year.

What is NBN trying to tell us: they are in charge of Australia's tech future and the citizens need to keep back behind the barriers and watch?

Officially, the message is:

"We’re part of a new generation, a growing group of Australians redefining how the world sees them. It’s time for gen nbn™. Visit nbn.com.au/gennbn

The nbn™ network is Australia’s broadband network, delivering the technology for all Australians to realise their dreams and discover new possibilities in a connected world."
