I wonder if autonomous cars will be able to distinguish between * Someone on the pavement waving to a friend on the opposite side of the road;
* Someone waving at an occupant of the car, who they know; * Someone waving to alert the car/driver of a pending danger; * A policeman waving at a car/driver to make it stop. Maybe roads will be segregated well apart from pedestrians, and cars will run on tracks. Oh, I've just invented the single carriage, autonomous train.
