One interesting Budget announcement is $5.9M funding to expand the Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) Program to include English for indigenous children. The App currently provides Arabic, Mandarin, French, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

The App apparently works well. But what does it say about our society when teaching English to disadvantaged students is a lower priority than seven other languages?
