The terror reorg is primarily about Turnbull's terror about his right wing rather than the Australian public's (government- and media-induced) terror about occasional acts of violence.
Among the many elements, some rather odd, it's reported that the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) is set to quadruple in size to about 1000 people. https://www.itnews.com.au/news/macgibbon-to-lead-australian-cyber-security-centre-468628 Has anyone seen any evidence of value for money from ACSC? Has it promulgated anything resembling a set of practical baseline security guidelines that micro-, small and medium business can implement? See my previous attempts to get this on various agendas: http://www.xamax.com.au/EC/ISInfo.pdf (2013) http://www.rogerclarke.com/EC/SSACS.html#App2 (2015) Is there anything comprehensible and practicable even for large business and government agencies? Financial services organisations have some of their own. And I'm familiar with the ISM and the Top 25 / Top 4. But I'm not convinced that this provides the platform that's needed. -- Roger Clarke http://www.rogerclarke.com/ Xamax Consultancy Pty Ltd 78 Sidaway St, Chapman ACT 2611 AUSTRALIA Tel: +61 2 6288 6916 http://about.me/roger.clarke mailto:[email protected] http://www.xamax.com.au/ Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Law University of N.S.W.
