The design and at least initial implementation of ENUM was one of the most diabolical demonstrations of numbskull, blinkered and arrogant engineering thinking that I've ever come across. (For clarity, no, I'm not blaming Paul for that). But I've never gone back to find out whether the final implementation(s?) of it are as gross and dangerous as they appeared likely to be. Here are papers explaining why I have such a strongly negative attitude to the conduct of the project, and, I fear, to its outcomes as well: http://www.rogerclarke.com/DV/enum.html (2002, short version) http://www.rogerclarke.com/DV/ENUM0507.html (2005) http://www.rogerclarke.com/DV/enumISOC02.html (2002-03) http://www.rogerclarke.com/II/SocRespISOC02.html (2002) -- Roger Clarke http://www.rogerclarke.com/ Xamax Consultancy Pty Ltd 78 Sidaway St, Chapman ACT 2611 AUSTRALIA Tel: +61 2 6288 6916 http://about.me/roger.clarke mailto:[email protected] http://www.xamax.com.au/ Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Law University of N.S.W.
