It's so easy to nominate somebody for an Honour!  Can be done online: https://www.gg.gov.au/australian-honours-and-awards/nomination-forms

All that's needed is for one person to initiate the nomination by filling in and submitting the form, and for up to four others to have their names included to be available for commenting on the nominee if the Honours secretariat decide that would be useful.

And now Geoff Huston, described by Wired magazine as "the gadfly who got Australia online". Geoff is owed an Order of Australia, at the very least, for telling the Australian government to stop messing around with GOSIP and adopt the Internet.

That's a good point.  Neither Geoff nor Robert Elz has very much public recognition despite the key roles with both played in establishing Australia's Internet connectivity.  I had the pleasure of working with Geoff at APNIC some years ago.
