[An amazing discovery: search mechanisms need to recognise synonyms:
>Seeksy can therefore cope with synonyms for the same job - think "governess"
>and "nanny" - that describe apply to the same job but are used only in
>different places or groups .

[Synonyms were a feature of all but the simplest of services long before
Internet search-engines arrived c.1998. Think Status and Stairs in the 1960s,
and their successors.

[So has it really taken two decades of mucking around with dumb, brute-force
approaches before someone re-discovered the previously well-known?]
