Satellite Internet, I suggest, will remain a niche application.

There are not many places in the world where there are enough people with money to pay for a satellite service to mobile devices, but not a terrestrial wireless service.

There is a history of satellite phone ventures failing, as they could not find enough paying customers. Iridium launched about 66 satellites, but had to be rescued from bankruptcy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iridium_Communications

Orbcomm provide an interesting data service, for low data rate, non-real-time applications. As a result they need fewer satellites. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orbcomm
