In the last 24 hours I have received two scam invitations to connect to people on LinkedIn.

The first was from a US surgeon. This was an obvious fake, as the photo was too good: it turns out some unfortunate South American surgeon has had their photo misused widely.

The second was from a Bitcoin investment advisor. Their advice seems to be to buy Bitcoin early on, as you would have made a lot of money.

Curiously, one of the interests the surgeon lists on their profile is bitcoin, and one of their skills is financial advice (attested by what appears to be a fake Russian computer professional).

I have asked LinkedIn to delete these "people".

Perhaps this is some sort of coordinated sting.
