It is the job of the Australian Government to work with telcos before
disasters, not just try to blame them afterwards. If the Minister wants
a higher level of reliability of the network, he need to consult the

After the main supply fails, back-up power kicks in but soon
requires re-fuelling by technicians ...
Sites could be powered by renewable energy (wind and solar). But this
