Not at all snake oil.  Many of the major router vendors have similar
products, such as Netgears "Pro Gaming" Nighthalk routers -

Based on that article, it looks like the Telstra routers will run the same
OS as Netgear use, DumaOS from NetDuma - http://netduma.com/
