Linphone 1.4.0 is out after some months of development.
The streaming engine has been completely rewritten from scratch
(mediastreamer2 superseeds old mediastreamer). Easier to use and portable
over linux/windows/MacOSX, it makes integration of new codecs and audio/video
features faster.
* stable video support with H.263-1998 (thanks to ffmpeg)
* echo cancelation (thanks to speex library)
* experimental theora support
* video resolution and framerate set according to bandwidth constraints.
* linphonec new "soundcard" command to list and choose sound devices.
* new download and upload bandwidth parameters used to find suitable
video/audio codec choice and parameters.
* new 'play' and 'record' commands to linphonec to play and record wav
files
instead of using soundcard.
* arts sound backend
but:
- jack support unported to mediastreamer2, sorry : volunteer needed !
