[Linphone-users] How to port Linphone binaries to Xilinx FPGA ML-403 board(using Powerpc-405 processor)

Hi All

I have cross compiled "Linphone-1.0.1" on my pc (Red Hat Linux 2.4
kernel version) for Powerpc-405.


For this I refered README.arm document in "Linphone-1.0.1" directory.
It was given for arm processor, same way I did for my powerpc-405
processor.

Now I have "Linphonec & Sipomatic" binaries on my PC, this must be
loaded to the compact flash of Xilinx ML-403 FPGA Evaluation board.

I did ipkg-build for "Linphone-1.0.1, Libosip2-2.2.2", after this I
have got ".ipk" format files.

Now my question is: whether I have to copy ".ipk" format files to the
compact flash or else can I directly load the "Linphone"
binaries(i.e,. Linphonec & Sipomatic)  into the compact flash.


Another Question: Can I know the file format of "Linphonec &
Sipomatic" i.e,. should the file format must specify whether it is
powerpc or X86 format. Because when I check the properties of
"Linphonec & Sipomatic" its showing it is configured to Intel(X86)
processor.

As per my knowledge if anything is cross compiled it has to display
the file format to the target architecture (i.e,. powerpc-405 or arm).

Please help me in this regard. Please reply me.

I think some more information about what you're trying to do, and on what
hardware, may be required. From what I can see the ML403 is a Xilinx FPGA
development board, and most of the examples use it to make a machine with a
PowerPC 405 core. Are you trying to port linphone to PowerPC, or a different
core entirely?

I can't help with porting myself, but I suspect you'll get more and better
answers if you can be as specific as possible about what you need help with.

Hi Venkatram,
how do you want to port >binaries< for powerpc to an arm processor? If you 
actually mean that you would like to compile linphone for arm then just create an 
ipkg for the arm. Of course you need a cross-compile environment (or you compile it 
on an arm natively).
There are .bb files available for linphone 1.6.0 on 
http://www.openembedded.org/filebrowser/org.openembedded.dev/packages/linphone
which uses bitbake to create the ipkg's. An example for this cross-compile 
environment is described at http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Development/HomePage

Hello folks,

I am new to the list and new to linphone, so pardon in advance what
could be an obvious or already answered question. I have been searching
the mailing list archive a little bit but could not find any answer there.

I would like to run linphone video in fullscreen mode. Is this possible
in any way? (so far I have been testing the windows version and the
linux version (ubuntu package, i.e. 1.5 branch).
