But actually, it turns out that the internal mic *does work* when i select OSS as the audio driver for *both*, the playback and capture device. (If I select OSS only for the capture device, on the other hand, even audio playback does not work, and I get lots of error messages saying "ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1010:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave".)
