The blackberry is only capable of realtime audio using AMR codec. This AMR codec is not so common due to the licence fees you have to pay to the AMR licensors. As a consequence, when calling from a blackberry device to a "not blackberry" device, you need a transcoder in the server to convert from AMR codec to another codec. The sip.linphone.org has this capability but it is not activated as it would be expensive. If you need commercial support for a blackberry product you can contact the Belledonne Communications company.
