Which linux are you using?
On ubuntu, when I got such errors, I went into Synaptic package manager
and would type for example, libavcodec-dev
And install the library.

Subject: [Linphone-users] Error while configuring linphone with video
enable

Hi

I am trying to make linphone for linux pc with video support enabled.
But the configure command is giving me error.The command I gave is

./configure --prefix=/data/bgb290/pankajb/ankuj/linphone/libraries
--with-osip=/data/bgb290/pankajb/ankuj/linphone/libraries/
--enable-gtk_ui=no --enable-video=yes
--with-ffmepg=/data/bgb290/pankajb/ankuj/linphone/libraries/lib
SPEEX_CFLAGS="-I/data/bgb290/pankajb/ankuj/linphone/libraries/include/"
 SPEEX_LIBS="-L/data/bgb290/pankajb/ankuj/linphone/libraries/lib/
-lspeex -lspeexdsp"
LIBS="-L/data/bgb290/pankajb/ankuj/linphone/libraries/lib/ -lavcodec"
CFLAGS="-I/data/bgb290/pankajb/ankuj/linphone/libraries/include/"

I get following error

checking for FFMPEG... no
configure: error: Could not find libavcodec (from ffmpeg) headers and
library. This is mandatory for video support
configure: error: ./configure failed for mediastreamer2

If I disable video support I have been able to run linphone without any
issues.
