Hi Keith,

I had something similar - Linphone seems to create a local network user as the 
default user which is why your IP address is shown as the unknown user on the 
wider network.


You need to create your user account as a new account under Preferences->Manage 
SIP Accounts.

Add your Linphone SIP account with your identity and proxy address both set as 
per your Linphone persona and make sure that the "Register at startup" box is 
ticked. You should then be prompted for your sip.linphone.org password either 
then or on reboot and when it starts up.
