Felix,
I would be willing to try building a package, though I'm looking for a .deb
package I can add to our local repository in the end. I've never built a
.deb package but I'm familiar with compiling programs from source (I tried
that for Linphone 3.6, got stuck on a libsrtp error that wouldn't go away
even after I installed linphone's version of that library).

I personally would like to move the 3.6 to see if it address the bugs I see
in 3.5.2 - specifically, I have a large number of Linphone instances making
calls through an Asterisk PBX - the goal was to stress-test the Asterisk
server, but the linphonecsh daemons (which I use to try and automate large
numbers of calls/distributions) are constantly hanging - they are still
running, but they don't execute any commands or take any calls (they are
set to autoanswer). I've run the SIP traces and I don't see anything
unusual, but this happens (it seems) almost randomly. The only way I can
tell the linphonecsh instance kicked the bucket (without checking manually)
is when it fails to re-register to the PBX.
