I can't tell you on Ubuntu since I use Mageia, but I think the better way is
to look at this page :

and at the INSTALL, and above all at the README file in sources.
(Attention, there are two mistakes in the "sudo apt-get" command, I can't
remember what they are because I did correct them in my file.)
