Hello Oscar,

This error happens because the command 'xxd' is unavailable. In Debian, I
included the package 'vim-common' as a build dependency.

As a suggestion to the maintainers, the build process should probably throw
an error when the two include files for the shaders fail to build. In
addition, autoconf could ensure that 'xxd' is available.
