Hi Bill,
Once you typed the phone number in the search bar, a dropdown with a
list will be displayed, with the number you just typed. You must
clic/tap on the phone button after your number, in the list.
I, too, do not find this very intuitive ... hopefully, this will be
changed in a next release.
