I can only admire your persistence and energy
in this project. What I have seen through the
years is: that once you question the options for
proceeding, it will not take too long before you
will have a new operational solution. I am sorry
that I can not help in this, but I am sure that
there are some "socket-experts" in the audience!

Sure - but I have no idea how to proceed.
I am sure it is quite easy - but there seems to be
several different ways and there is the usual
mixture of acronyms that I can not interpret at
those places where I tried to get a hint.

I need to know how to open a socket (or whatever
it might be called) to read UDP packages under
Windows. That would at least be a starting point.
