Thanks to all for your responses.
I was able to properly code my qeth parameters with the portname and bring
up my
network with my rescue system. The bad news is, I destroyed my test system
doing it (don't ask).
What better way to learn :)

Thanks,
SG

Sandy,

Check out http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvtype?LINUX-VM.19856. You have to
add an option to your modules.conf parameters for the card after the
microcode change.

Subject: OSA-E and IDX Terminate

Hello,

I received the following error after the IPL of my Linux LPAR.

"Received an IDX Terminate on IRQ 0C44 with cause code 0x22 use another
portname."

My OSA card is online to the LPAR. I would consider resetting the card, but
it's in use by other LPARS.

Needless to say, I cannot telnet into the system.

Has anyone seen this before ? Are there any manuals which may explain these
codes ? Are there
any good diagnostics commands to use ?

We upgraded our z/Series Driver Level to Driver 38 (microcode) this past
weekend.

TIA,
SG
