Aha, but could you not do the initial IPL with a fresh 2.4.9-17 kernel that you can download from RedHat, download an initrd-oco.img from someone who already did that merge (like a copy that currently happens to be at ftp://ftp.iae.nl/pub/users/rvdheij/rh-2.4.9/ - this is the initrd for IPL on VM - the owner might be persuaded to keep the 'tape' version there for a moment). You could then use that install all the RC2 rpm's and a new kernel and headers rpm at the 2.4.9-17 level (but that is only 3MB or so) Rob
