Yep, me too... > Localhost also resolves to some IPv6 address (:1, maybe?). Which x3270 > does not know about. First thing I thought of when I saw what I saw. Indeed, been caught with it on a SuSE system. But on the RH 7.1 I'm working with, unless it's *very* well hidden, I can't see any IPv6 anywhere. My /etc/hosts has no IPv6 address for localhost (which is where I spotted it on the SuSE system). The kernel is a RYO [1], and I did not include IPv6... Besides, I can do "x3270 localhost", which resolves to 127.0.0.1, and x3270 displays a telnet login prompt for the local Linux system. If I disconnect, select "Connect/Other...", enter "localhost 3270", I get the same telnet prompt. If I enter "127.0.0.1 3270", I get the 3270 screen I'm wanting. Again, I've verified that localhost resolves to 127.0.0.1. I'm not concerned by this, just *really* curious. ;) But not curious enough that I want to use any more bandwidth on this list (as we're pretty OT). Thanks all for your information!
