I have been trying to install RedHat's latest beta for the S/390 and have run into problems with Anaconda. I have the last copies of the ISO files and have downloaded the latest OCO LCS modules from IBM and found the matching INITRD.IMG and KERNEL.IMG files. I can IPL the initial bootstrap just fine and can telnet into the system. My problem is when I start the "loader" shell. I have the ISO files on an accessable disk (/dev/dasdd1) and tell Anaconda I am doing an install from hard disk. I get as far as the request for formatting DASD and after that I get the following error messages from Anaconda:
Description of problem: When attempting to install RedHat 7.2 beta for S/390, Anaconda fails with an unhandled exception. Traceback infor: File "/usr/bin/anaconda". line 640, in ? intf.run(id, dispatch, configFileData) File "/var/tmp/anaconda-7.2//usr/lib/anaconda/text.py", line 410, in run File "/var/tmp/anaconda-7.2//usr/lib/anaconda/dispatch.py", line 144, in gotoNext File "/var/tmp/anaconda-7.2//usr/lib/anaconda/dispatch.py", line 209, in moveStep File "/var/tmp/anaconda-7.2//usr/lib/anaconda/partitioning.py", line 1659, in partitionMethodSetup File "/var/tmp/anaconda-7.2//usr/lib/anaconda/partitioning.py", line 1641, in setProtected TypeError: attribute-less object (assign or del) I am using an OSA-2 adapter which works just fine. The manual suggests that this is a Python error and I have submitted a bug request to bugzilla.redhat.com. Anyone run into this problem? I can't use the FTP, HTTP, of NFS install options as I am behind the company firewall and am severely restricted to what I can access. Any ideas on how to proceed???
