I've just installed Red Hat 7.2 in an LPAR, using the LCS device driver. Except for some minor issues, the install was relatively smooth.
Now, I'd like to use the gigabit interface of the machine, so I'm trying to make the qeth driver work. It seems to refuce to take the parameters I pass it, though. I'm trying insmod qdio insmod qeth noauto,<read>,<write>,<data> and other variations (qeth_options=..) as suggested by IBM docs. insmod just tells me "no such device", though, although my system programmer says this device should be available to this LPAR. I see the lcs device has claimed eth0-2, should I try to specify that it should use qeth3 (I've tried)? I would like to verify that I can configure the interface before I drop the lcs-based one. As I'm not totally familiar with the S/390 hardware setup, and various documentation points in various directions, I'm in need of some tips of how to proceed. -- Martin Eggen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
