Yes, the device is detected as expected. Not at boot time, but when I insert the module. Each time I change /etc/chandev.conf, I'm removing the module, issuing "echo read_conf > /proc/chandev; echo reprobe > /proc/chandev", and then reinserting it. Depending on the configuration, the module is inserted as expected, and I'm able to enable the interface, but no packages are sent or received. Anyway, the fifth parameter is clearly doing some magic. I'd hope someone involved in the module development would tell me what it's for.
