Phil, You'll have to use the chandev interface to get it to recognize the new device dynamically, and then update /etc/chandev.conf to make the change "permanent" for future system reboots. I would guess (although I don't know) that YaST would handle this for you. I would try that first. Again, without a 2.4 system to check, try: yast->System administration->Network configuration->Network base configuration
