There *was* a recent change to the qdio/qeth drivers which had to be coordinated with CP APAR VM62938 and TCPIP APAR PQ51738 but if the qdio/qeth driver had been the problem I would have expected it to fail before it had the chance to send an IP Address to the adapter.
