Hi,
actually printing on Linux will be almost the same for zSeries and
Intel(You just cannot attach a PC printer to the zSeries), but for queuing
and stuff like that, it should be the same. In connection with Samba, i
would check out the CUPS server http://www.cups.org and for new printer
filters and more doku, http://www.linuxprinting.org.

Do this:
1) go to the web site www.linuxvm.org and have a look at the three
IBM RedBooks listed there. They all have good information on using
Samba with Windows and using Linux as a print server.
2) On the "Large Number of Links" page, look at the two articles by
Adam Thornton on using Linux as an enterprise print server. Very
specific details on how to set it up and use it in conjunction with
other VM print resources, like RSCS.
3) give it a try and let the list know about any problems you may
run into or successes you have.
Good luck.
