Well I added the default gateway to the linux side,
and that made the "destination unreachable" msgs go aways
but this made no difference...still unable to ping to other end of CTC.

I also have all my settings comparable to Neale's (that work for him).

I noticed everytime I fire up the CTC on the linux side I get TX carrier
errors.

ctc0 Link encap:Serial Line IP
          inet addr:192.168.1.2 P-t-P:192.168.1.1 Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MTU:1492 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:20 dropped:20 overruns:0 carrier:20
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)

Questions:
1. Do the TX carrier:20 errors provide any clues?

2. I did not restrict my CTC devices to certain partitions
using the PART= keyword in HCD...would that make any difference?
Currently all devices are online and shared by all lpars.

3. I currently have an OSA (eth0) defined on both the linux and os/390
systems.
Should I try just using the CTC to see if the LCS is maybe intercepting
my CTC traffic...
although my direct route on OS/390 and my default route on the linux390
side should not allow this to happen.

TIA
Dave
