This points up why it is a _very_ good idea to copy the configuration file used to build your install kernel into the top-level directory of your new kernel source as .config, and do a "make oldconfig" command. This preserves all the old options (such as whether to use devfs or not) and only prompts you for _new_ options that haven't been specified before.

I've just found an answer in the list about a similar problem. The problem seems to be on the /etc/fstab/ In the previous version, allocations were made with /dev/dasda1, I think I have to change before shutdown and set them with DEVFS support like /dev/dasd/device? I try it now. I did get similar errors, until I did one shutdown -h. Then they seemed to go away.
