If there is a lot of network traffic, the shorter path lengths in Linux may give Linux an edge (if the OSAs or whatever are directly attached to the Linux guests). The reasons for running WAS on OS/390 vs Linux are primarily functional (WAS on OS/390 is EE, WAS on Linux is AE), not performance related. Regards, Jim Elliott - Linux Advocate
