I've turned my remarks into a web page at http://www.isham-research.com/kneejerk.html
> How many years ago was it that SUN first compared mainframes to dinosaurs? 'Raptor' was originally called something else. Lots of code names have been used - the original system in that space was 'Flagstaff' - then I heard 'M390' and even 'Subway'. 'Raptor' was apparently chosen as a response to Sun's 'dinosaur' comment. Whatever - if "Big Blue Smoke" really reflects Sun's thinking, then they're just not paying attention. Which is in reasonable agreement with IDC's recent server market figures. -- Phil Payne http://www.isham-research.com +44 7785 302 803 +49 173 6242039
