So many things to measure, so little time....
Possible problems:
Network: MTU, errors, window size, settings for interface
TCPIP: buffers/subpools? waiting for CPU?
Processor: Is it over utilized? have a large DSPSLICE set?
Storage: Paging? linux swapping? buffer storage small?
DASD: no write cache or cache disabled? slow dasd? contention
on devices?
