Richard, I'm sorry to hear that, but of course I respect your opinion.
As far as CD vs DVD, I would have to say that the number of people with DVD capability is rather small for now. I would imagine that going to 2 or more CDs would be much more feasible. And, I'd still like to have some discussion happen about just what packages are to be installed so that the person receiving the CDs would be able to do a comparison on "look and feel" and not be influenced by "Red Hat has this installed, but SuSE doesn't" or vice versa. Volker, you apparently have some amount of experience in this sort of thing, perhaps you'd care to join in the project? I don't think I'm entitled to do that, nor would I want to. I gave them that. It was a gift in good faith. If they shoose to chit on it, so be it. If somebody feels the need to burn books, let them. Write new books. For me to be standing in these people's way is a waste of my free time. I've got work/play/whatever to do. I want to provide my fellow sysprogs with a tool so that they can evaluate and play with the various Linux/390 alternatives now available. The available documentation is rather dated, and needs refreshing. Somehow, I don't think that this has the makings of a Redpiece. So, I might call it "PinkPiece, the chapter that wasn't". Let's go. I still haven't solved the problem of how to fit 5 or more Distro's onto one CDROM. Q1: what percentage of us can use a DVD? Q2: does anybody here know anything about the costs of authoring DVD's? Q3: If DVD's are not an option, what would people think about the suggestion to "Mix & Match" and "Burn your own" CD? Richard -- Q: Is WinCE an Operating System ?? A: No, it's a facial Expression !! quod erat demonstrandum Have a nice day ;-) Richard Higson mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
