We are pleased to provide details on the upcoming joint meeting of the
Canada VM and VSE User Groups.
The meeting will take place on Friday May 10 at 330 University Avenue in
Toronto from 8:30 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m.
330 University is just north of Queen. You can't miss it since it is the old
Canada Life building with the weather tower on the roof.
We will be having joint sessions in the morning, and special interest
breakout sessions in the afternoon.
Advance admission is $25 for VSE members, and $40 for VM members. At the
door registrations are $40.
Enjoy A.M. coffee, an A.M. break, a catered lunch, and a P.M. snack break
that are included in the registration price.
What a deal!
Joint sessions will include an IBM s390 update, VM update, VSE update, and a
quick review of the WAVV conference, and Linux for s390 update from IBM.
Breakout sessions:
VM:
IBM will provide a VM topic of interest.
David Kreuter of VM Resources will present a technical briefing of the
VM/LinMan product. VM/LinMan provides
systems management for Linux images on s/390.
Barton Robinson, President and Founder of Velocity Software Inc., will give
a presentation on: Measuring and Tuning Linux for S/390 Servers
This presentation will look at some Linux performance issues and some
technology used to analyze and manage Linux
performance - either for dedicated servers or under VM.
VSE:
IBM will provide a VSE topic of interest.
Hans Rempel will give a technical presentation on VSE based enterprise
printing solutions. As well, he will be available to discuss the latest
VSE gossip that came up in the WAVV conference. Hans is a long time member
of both the VM and VSE users group.
Jeffrey Barnard of Barnard Software, Inc. will discuss an overview of
TCP/IP-TOOLS newest feature ... VSE/ESA File and Printer sharing using
Samba.
