That is going to greatly depend upon what you are going to run in them.  Most
of the open source software have minimal storage requirements and is quite
happy to run in 24, 32 or 64Meg virtual machines.   Other software like
databases, for instance rely on having alot of storage available for
buffering, so their storage requirements are somewhat greater.
