Hello my apologies if you have seen this before but I did not receive a copy of the post myself so I was not sure if it was sent properly.
Environment: MP3000 H50 Multiple MVS LPAR's - 1 Suse Linux LPAR - no VM Cisco 7507 ESCON Router with CIP/CLAW Interface We have been running the SUSE Linux 7.0 Kernel 2.2.16 in a LPAR since last October and would like to install the RedHat 7.2 GA release in that same LPAR. We do not have an HMC CDROM available and the HMC does not have access to a FTP server. When we initially got the SUSE Distribution up we booted from tape with the three initial files. 1. What would be the recommended method to migrate from SUSE to RedHat 7.2? 2. What needs to be done to get my CLAW Interface working with the newer kernel and RedHat? 3. We got familiar with YAST and installed all the packages from an ftp server after we got our network connected under SUSE, how should we install the packages now under RedHat? 4. Can we just somehow boot a redhat system by copying some files to the current SUSE LPAR system? Thanks and have a great day! :-) Tom Kunz OIT/PTS Network & AIX Systems Support University of Minnesota 1300 S. 2nd St. Mpls., MN. 55454-1083 Suite 660 Phone: 612-624-8086 Fax: 612-626-1332 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ************************************************************************** This e-mail and its attachments have been scanned for viruses.
