It is not as easy as you might think to get a remedy for something like this out of our firewall people. For now, I modified ipchains on my own router to block AUTH/ident from going out from my Linux farm. This seems to have fixed the problem from the outside user's point of view, but, I would rather just turn off AUTH/ident from the server side if possible. The system doesn't do anything with the retrieved information except log it anyway.
