I must confess I was a little surprised to see the model number (3745). However, they are programable and so TCP/IP is technically feasible. I seem to have some difficulty explaining myself about those serial ports (and other things on another list). I have two computers called Dugite and Numbat. Using the modem server software, I can use Dugite's serial ports on Numbat. I'm not sure about sending faxes (OS/2's equivalent feature doesn't support it), but certainly dialup internet is possible. Unless there's an endian problem, I'd expect you to be able to use my PCs' serial ports on your mainframe. Just like in the Unix world we can use remote tape drives as if they were local, almost like we can do software RAID across the world. -- Cheers John Summerfield Microsoft's most solid OS: http://www.geocities.com/rcwoolley/ Note: mail delivered to me is deemed to be intended for me, for my disposition. ============================== If you don't like being told you're wrong, be right!
